Alicia Kelley
Children's Ministry Leader
Alicia Kelley was born in Camp Springs, Maryland and comes from a military family. Her grandfather, Deacon James H. Newton, shared the Gospel with her, encouraged her to read her Bible, and ensured she attended Vacation Bible School annually. Alicia was baptized at a young age after publicly accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
In her youth, Alicia’s parents supported her desire to lead by challenging her academically and enrolling her in scholarly based summer programs. Upon graduating High School, Alicia decided to continue her education by attending college. Following the completion of numerous degree programs, Alicia obtained employment as a Program Analyst.
Although Alicia had been successful professionally, she felt something was missing. So, she prayed that God would fill the void with something that aligns with His will for her. Following that prayer, Alicia was asked to serve in the Sunday School Ministry at The Church at St. Charles. Once she began teaching, she realized how much she enjoyed teaching children. After some time, Alicia sought additional opportunities to serve with children. She began working as the Crafts’ Director for Vacation Bible School and then accepted a role as the lead of the Children’s Ministry. As the Children’s Ministry leader, she oversees the Kids’ Club 3:16 and Nursery programs.
Alicia believes we can share the Gospel with children using everyday items. She plans weekly lessons that include object-based lessons and life application activities. She believes and encourages children to build a firm foundation with God, trust in His faithful love, and submit to His purpose for a fulfilling life (Psalm 138:8).
Alicia lives in Southern Maryland with her loving husband, Antoine (Tony), and their two daughters.
